To help ensure clean, precise punching and extend the life of your die assembly, it is recommended that you lightly oil the pins periodically. Below are step-by-step instructions for lubricating the pins in your Rhin-O-Tuff die assembly:
- Loosen the die knobs and slide the die assembly out of the machine.
- Apply a small amount of machine oil onto a clean cloth.
- With the die assembly resting on its side (so that the pins are accessible), use the cloth to apply a light coat of oil to each pin.
- Use a second cloth to wipe away any excess oil from each pin.
- Insert the oiled die assembly into the machine.
- Tighten both die knobs evenly to lock the die assembly in place.
- Insert a few pages of scrap paper into the punching throat and punch through them to remove any excess oil.
